Job Purpose:

 

The Tax Department’s purpose is to ensure that Tax Service clients receive the most advantageous service based upon their domicile, entity type and the current Citi tax product offering. The unit provides support to the operations teams based in Dublin and Kuala Lumpur, premium-client support, and direct interaction with Tax Authorities, agents, and other departments within Citi.

 

The role will bring exposure to senior management and will therefore require someone who can build and maintain professional working relationships both with these senior managers, and their management teams. They must have an ability to manage changing priorities and ad-hoc requests.

 

The role will provide an opportunity to work on a range of tax processes, normally with several tasks at any one time. It is taken as given that the person will be enthusiastic, pro-active and focused on delivering to a high standard.

 

Job background/ context:

 

Working within Citi Global Transaction Services, the tax department specialises in obtaining relief at source (RAS) and tax for our global client base.

The Department is concerned with servicing a diverse client cohort through assisting clients to obtain the tax benefits they are entitled to.
A number of systems are employed to support Department functions.
Business Analysts in Tax Operations assist Operations, Product  and Technology to:
•Understand,  identify and approve required system changes
•Test and implement system enhancements

The key system used within the tax department is Citi Tax Suite.

 

Key responsibilities:


General Requirements


Technical


•Ability to collect and understand requirements and assist others to develop similar skills
•Ability to guide users in the creation and execution of effective test steps
Communication
•Ability to identify challenges and co-ordinate effective responses
Planning
•Ensure that Ops users and management are aware of upcoming resource use requirements in good time and that adequate resources are available to support same
Specific Tasks


Citi Tax Suite


•Be aware of upcoming requirements to support system enhancements though attending calls with CTS Technology partners
•Ensure that all CTS users are aware of upcoming changes and have an opportunity to provide feedback
•Engage with Technology and Ops partners to agree prioritisation and planning
•Requirement to write test scripts
•Requirement to complete testing in SIT, UAT, and Production
•Assign owners to tasks within operations
•Assist Ops staff with Requirement writing, test script writing and test execution
•Covers Enhancements to the various Citi Tax Suite modules

Other Tax Systems
•Assist Ops staff with Requirement writing, test script writing and test execution
•Engage with Technology and Ops partners to agree prioritisation and planning

Qualifications
 

Knowledge/ experience:


•Experience in Withholding Tax related work
•An operations background, or an understanding of custody processing would be an advantage
•It is essential that the candidate has a proven ability to meet new challenges and assimilate information.
•Experience of working with systems used by Tax Operation Department would be an advantage

•Excellent problem solving skills
•Good organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and prioritise within tight deadlines.
