Role Background:

 

 

As a major international banking organisation, Citi manages its business activities across a number of important dimensions such as Product, Geography and Legal Vehicle (LV).  Following the successful merger of Citibank International Plc entity into the Citibank Europe Plc at the start of 2016, CEP is now the main EU banking entity for Citi in EMEA.  It has a presence in 21 countries in Europe, covering several key business lines including Markets & Securities Services, Treasury & Trade Services, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Consumer, with Revenue of approx. $2bn and total assets of $50 billion.  Given the size and importance of CEP in the European Banking arena, CEP is considered a European “Significant Institution” with primary responsibility for prudential regulation of CEP transferring from the Central Bank of Ireland to the Single Supervisory Mechanism of the European Central Bank.

This position is therefore a critical role given the increased systemic importance of the new banking entity, heightened regulatory focus and importance of this strong risk management to the broader entity strategy.


Job Purpose:


•Working with the Head of Stress Testing, the CEP Stress Testing Manager will be the point of contact within the CEP for Model Risk Governance. 
•Responsible for maintaining the CEP Model Risk inventory and aligned to the global risk management processes in relation to model risk.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 


•Close co-operation with the model risk management in New York to understand the local requirements for model risk in the legal entity.
•Support the CEP Head of Head of Stress Testing to evaluate Legal Vehicle Stress Testing risk controls and frameworks.
•Be the point of the contact within the CEP Stress Testing team in relation to all the model governance and model risk.
•Work with the existing risk modelling teams globally to enhance reporting to ensure the existing models are fit for purpose for the legal entity and consider the lens of European Regulation as applicable.
•Support the CEP Head of Stress Testing in ensuring CEP’s model governance programme is in line with best practice  and compliant with all applicable regulatory standards.
•Further enhance the holistic end-to-end legal vehicle stress testing Framework including hypothetical, historic, concentration, point of weakness and reverse stress testing
•Enhance the quarterly Stress Testing process to provide enhanced credit risk measurement of the portfolio including inter and intra concentration risk.

 

 

Development Opportunity:

 

 
Individuals in this role will gain a deep understanding of the Stress Testing of a major European Commercial Bank, interacting with senior management and regulators, reporting to senior committees and other key governance forums.  The individual will participate in developing the stress testing strategy for the bank.


Qualifications
 

Knowledge/Experience:


•Good understanding of Risk fundamentals and understanding of model lifecycle
•Experience in an international banking organisation
•Knowledge of EU regulation (Capital Requirements)

 

Qualifications:

 


•Post-graduate education in Finance, Financial Risk Management, or other quantitative discipline.

•Excellent planning and execution skills
