Job Purpose:

The CEP Senior Credit Manager will be responsible for reviewing and managing all aspects of the credit portfolio in CEP.


The CEP Senior Credit Risk Manager will fully support the CEP Head of Credit Risk with regard to all requirements for the CEP Legal Entity and broader Citi Global responsibilities.


Responsibilities include ensuring the credit portfolio is compliant with the CEP Credit Risk Framework, CEP Credit Risk Policy and the CEP Remedial Management Policy. In addition, the Senior Credit Manager will be involved and in most cases lead a range of legal vehicle responsibilities including new transaction proposals, IFRS 9, Board and Committee presentations, implementing and ensuring adherence to Regulations and Guidelines.


Job Background/Context:


The CEP Risk Management Department is responsible for the holistic management of risk across all business lines and locations of Citibank Europe plc.


CEP is the main EU licenced banking entity for Citi in EMEA.  It is headquartered in Dublin, with branches in 21 countries.  Given its size and systemic importance, CEP is considered a “Significant Institution” by the European Central Bank and is directly supervised by the Single Supervisory Mechanism in Frankfurt. 


CEP Senior Credit Manager will cover all CEP Credit Risk Management responsibilities for CEP’s entire loan book, covering Citi’s clients throughout the world.



Key Responsibilities:


• Maintain and manage CEP Credit portfolio, perform credit analysis and execute transactions. 

• Work with CEP Head of Credit Risk on specific projects, including portfolio reviews, updating of credit processes within the portfolio, presentations to senior management, adherence to Regulations and Guidelines, IFRS 9 etc.

• Provide recommendations about specific clients within the portfolio and provide monitoring of all extensions of credit for these names

• Lead with the delivery of risk reports/commentary to the Board, Risk and other relevant Committees along with Regulators and Senior Management.

• Be the Credit Subject Matter Expert for Expected Credit Loss model, IFRS 9 and credit portfolio stress testing.

• Lead components of ICAAP, Risk Appetite Statement, Pillar III Credit Disclosures and other ad-hoc regulatory or legal entity governance projects. 

• Lead person for information requests from Central Bank of Ireland, European Central Bank, External Auditors and Internal Audit.

• Support and deputise for Head of Credit as necessary.




• Demonstrable financial services experience including extensive years of credit experience in corporate, commercial, or retail banking
• Good knowledge of capital markets products, including derivatives
• Fully conversant in credit policy matters with proven sound judgment
• Understanding of EU / EBA credit regulations and guidelines, regulatory experience or relevant experience in a similar role at another institution is desirable

• Very strong formal English language writing ability – both word documents and presentations. 
• Attention to detail coupled with an ability to deliver a holistic evaluation.

• Strong planning and execution skills.




• Post-graduate education in Finance, Financial Risk Management, or other quantitative discipline
• Citi Senior Credit Officer (SCO) or equivalent qualification required




• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
• Self-motivated
• Demonstrate integrity
• Ability to multitask, good time management skills
• Excellent computer skills
