About your Job:

The Vice President Line Stations is responsible for managing and leading the implementation of goals, standards and long term strategy of the Line Stations.  The role maintains and controls operational integrity, service levels, costs and safety requirements for all stations.  In this role, the successful candidate will ensure that the highest quality and safety level of Ground Services support is provided at all times to Qatar Airways passengers, baggage, aircraft and crew at all current and future overseas stations.  

The role will ensure that the implemented processes fully satisfy all standards and procedures as enforced by regulatory bodies to the highest applicable industry standards. It will provide strategic direction and guidance to management on the development and execution of tactical plans to support the Ground Services strategy for Line Stations.

The key accountabilities are:

  • Compliance with Safety and Security regulatory requirements. You will manage all ground operations activities at all online outstations in line with Qatar Airways service, safety, commercial and operational policies. You will ensure that all Qatar Airways Ground Operations are conducted in accordance with safety and security regulations under ICAO, IOSA, QCAR and all relevant local aviation authorities.

  • Operational Efficiency. You will provide an overview and guides station's performance in the following areas: On Time Performance, Baggage performance, Customer Services complaints, Safety and Security SPIs. You will drive the Regional Manager Airport Services and Airport Services Managers to manage Qatar Airways and Ground Handling Agents staff at outstations to perform the function required and meet the Division’s objectives.

  • Customer Care. You will ensure that the highest standards of Ground Services and Customer care are provided to Qatar Airways passengers and operating crews at all stations. You will develop and implement plans to improve the customer experience in areas which are integral and unique to our 5-star service.  You will ensure that the standards of customer service are monitored and actions required for changes are implemented efficiently.

  • Development of Strategy. You are responsible for all necessary planning for opening of new stations. You will design and introduce initiatives and developments which impacts outstations collectively for continuous improvement, effective control and remedial follow up to achieve the targets.

  • Management and Leadership: Through efficient leadership, you are responsible for setting performance expectations and provision of guidelines and standards of activities and inspections to the Regional Management team. You will establish performance targets and KPIs for your direct reports and manage high-level stakeholders and tenant on all matters related to Line Stations.

About you:

You hold a Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of job related experience in airline and airport operations with at least 5 years in regional management role. You have strong understanding of airport operations and different safety and security regulations under ICAO, IOSA, QCAR and all relevant aviation authorities. You have strong business acumen and able to challenge others to manage change creatively, implement new approaches and encourage continuous improvement within your stations.

You have exceptional people values; very adept at bringing out strengths in others. You inspire and motivate teams and individuals to meet the organisation's vision and goals. You have the ability to provide a conducive work place that fosters the development of others, facilitates cooperation and teamwork. You have strong service orientation and cross cultural awareness.
